In accordance with Piper Jaffray research profit from AppStore is only 1% of Apple’s gross profit since June 2008 when AppStore was launched.
Totally apps were sold on $1.43 billions. Apple takes only 30% which is $429 millions. Then we should subtract commission of credit card processors and cost of storage and delivery infrastructure. And after that it’s only $189 million for Apple. Gross profit since AppStore was launched is $33.7 billions. Easy to compare.
